Evil Geniuses and Fnatic Win BTS Pro Series
The online Dota 2 event BTS Pro Series has concluded in both Americas and Southeast Asia, where Evil Geniuses and Fnatic placed first respectively. Each team received $21,000 in prize money.
Evil Geniuses, who placed 3rd in the group, started the playoffs stage in the upper bracket. There they defeated CR4ZY (2-1) in the first round, and then outplayed Quincy Crew twice – first in the upper bracket final (2-0) and then in the grand finals (3-1).
Fnatic managed to win the Southeast Asia event without losing a single match – they finished the group stage with the 7-0 score, and later in playoffs outplayed BOOM Esports (2-1) and defeated TNC Predator twice – 2-1 and 3-0.
BTS Pro Series was played on April 10th – 26th in two regions, both of them featured 8 teams competing for a $50,000 prize pool. First, they played in a single group with round-robin format, and then top four teams advanced to the upper bracket, while the teams placed 5th and 6th made it to the lower bracket. The grand finals were best-of-five, all other series were best-of-three.
