gla1ve retires and moves into coaching

Former Astralis captain gla1ve has announced his retirement from competitive play and a transition into a coaching role. He had been out of the active roster for several months after being benched by ENCE. His last major achievement came at Elisa Masters Espoo 2024, which became the final LAN trophy of his career.

However, in esports history, gla1ve will be remembered primarily as a key figure of Astralis’ dominant era. Under his leadership, the team won four Majors and collected 16 titles, including the very first Intel Grand Slam. He was frequently named tournament MVP and consistently ranked among the top 20 players of the season.

After departing Astralis, gla1ve continued his career with ENCE, where he had to operate in a constantly changing lineup. Despite the challenges, the team made playoff runs at major tournaments and finished the season strong in Espoo, defeating opponents such as 9z, The MongolZ, and HEROIC.

Now, gla1ve follows the example of his former Astralis teammates, including Xyp9x and dupreeh, and begins a new chapter as a coach. He noted that he always viewed this as a natural continuation of his career and still intends to lead teams to victories — even if not from inside the server.
