Team Kinguin Wins DreamHack Montreal 2018
This weekend Montreal hosted a $100,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive event DreamHack Montreal 2018. In the grand final Team Kinguin defeated ENCE eSports with the score of 2-0, receiving half of the prize pool.
The event was held on September 7-9 at Olympic Stadium. It started with a group stage, where eight participants were split into two GSL groups. Then top two teams from each group advanced to a single-elimination playoffs bracket with best-of-three series.
Both ENCE eSports and Team Kinguin qualified for playoffs from Group A, where they placed first and second respectively. In the semifinals Team Kinguin defeated AGO Esports (2-0), while ENCE eSports outplayed The Imperial (2-1). In the grand finals Kinguin emerged victorious on both maps (16:14 at Nuke, 16:9 at Dust II).
