MAD Lions Bench HUNDEN

The Spanish organization MAD Lions has benched the captain of their Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster, Nicolai "HUNDEN" Petersen. The player explained on his Twitter page that lately he got burned out and left the team on good terms.

HUNDEN has been playing for the team since early 2019, when the roster was part of Tricked Esports. This year the team placed 3rd-4th at both DreamHack Open Leipzig 2020 and GG.Bet ICE Challenge 2020, as well as finished 9-12th at IEM XIV – World Championship.

HUNDEN is not the first player to step back from competitive scene due to being burned out – earlier Alex "ALEX" McMeekin departed Team Vitality due to a busy schedule – the player explained that last year they spent 36 weeks travelling. Although initially they wanted to spent more time home this year, eventually it became impossible due to the emergence of multiple new prolonged leagues such as ESL Pro League, BLAST Premier and others.
