G2 Esports Triumphs at Mid-Season Invitational 2019
The global League of Legends event Mid-Season Invitational 2019 has concluded with a G2 Esports victory – the European team defeated Team Liquid in the grand finals of the event with the 3-0 score. The team's mid laner Rasmus "Caps" Borregaard Winther has been awarded the MVP status.
Earlier in the semifinals of the final Knockout Stage G2 defeated SK Telecom T1 (3-2), while Team Liquid, against expectations, managed to outplay the reigning world champions from Invictus Gaming (3-1).
Playoffs Bracket:
The final stage of Mid-Season Invitational 2019 was held on May 17th – 19th in Taipei, Taiwan. The earlier stages of the event were held in two Vietnamese cities – the Group Stage took place in Hanoi on May 10th – 14th, while the Play-In Stage took place in Ho Chi Minh City on May 1st- 7th. The tournament’s line-up included 13 teams. The base prize pool was set at $1,000,000.
