BLAST Confirms Format Change for Slam 6 Playoffs
Tournament operator BLAST has announced changes to the Slam series format. Starting with BLAST Slam 6, all playoff matches will be played in a best-of-5 format, marking a significant shift from previous seasons.
Previously, the best-of-5 format was used only for the grand final, while the rest of the playoff matches were played as best-of-3. With the new format, teams will have to endure longer and more demanding series at every stage of the final bracket.
The group stage of BLAST Slam 6 is scheduled for February 3–5, 2026, and will feature 12 teams. This will be followed by the Play-In stage from February 6–8, which will determine the remaining participants in the main stage of the tournament.
The playoffs will take place from February 13–15 at BLAST’s studio in Malta. The total prize pool for BLAST Slam 6 will be $1 million, with the updated format expected to increase both the spectacle and the value of victories in the decisive matches.
