ECS Season 8 Finals: Astralis and Team Liquid Advance to Playoffs

Esports Championship Series Season 8 – Finals has started yesterday with the group stage. Team Liquid and Astralis have already secured their places in the playoffs by placing first in their groups. The group stage will conclude today, on November 29th, and determine last two participants of the playoffs.

Team Liquid emerged victorious in Group A after defeating Ninjas in Pyjamas (16:4) and Evil Geniuses (2-0). Evil Geniuses are awaiting their opponents for the decider match, where they will face either AVANGAR or NiP.

Astralis showed the best result in Group B, where they outplayed Sharks (19:15) and Fnatic (2:0). In the elimination match Sharks will play with MIBR, the winner of the series will face Fnatic in the decider match.

The playoffs stage will be played on November 30th – December 1st. Four teams will compete in a single-elimination bracket with best-of-three series.

ECS Season 8 Finals is being held at Esports Stadium in Arlington, USA. The prize pool is set at $500,000.
